Obsession of the Day: Long Long Earrings

Back in the 70s you see a lot of beautiful long earrings best examples is STYLE ICON Edie Sedgewick and all her “shoulder dusters”, now it’s very hard to find such jewelry.  I love the pearl/gold danglers that Georgina Chapman has pictured here.  Anyone know where I can find something similar?  Georgina is one beautiful women.  Her clothing line www.Marchesa.com is very elegant and lady like.  If Toronto Boutiques had her gowns, I might have worn one for my wedding.

Economic Status - Recession or Depression?

Obsession of the past two years THE Chanel Bag.

Consumer confidence …is it at an all time low?  Banks are in trouble so it has to be serious right?  I’m not an economist, …but news say the DOW was at it’s record high, but we got  low wages,  mo debt, mo foreclosure, mo poverty, high unemployment and mo outsourcing jobs.

With this economy will The Chanel bag go on sale???? If it does.. it ain’t depression when you’re rocking a black lambskin quilted classic jumbo flap purse.  Let’s get the economy back up. Buy a Chanel bag!

Olsen Twins Style Icons

Ashley and Mary-Kate are growing up to become great style icons.  They have lots of chedda and they can buy anything designer..but as we true fashionistas know you can’t buy class and you can’t buy style..unless you buy Rachel Zoe.  She rocks have you seen her show?  Ok back to The Olsens…they have that individuality, mixing boho chic with glamour rock star edge.  They rock big momma everything…big fur, big bags, big frames, big rings and drown themselves in bracelets and ice. I LOVE that their jewels are mostly vintage.  Maybe it’s not that the items are big but because they are tiny. =P

They now have two fashion labels, Elizabeth & James and The Row.  My lovely husband bought me the gold fringe jacket.  Here are some pictures.

You can check out their new book “influence”.

Obsession of the day: X-pensif$ lingerie should be worn outside

When you pay so much for luxurious lingerie, I think you should wear it out !! =P  I’ve been caught wearing teddies and bodysuits to work, but I wore thick pantyhose, cashmere cardigan, expensive heels and lots of pearls to class it up.  I also love wearing old vintage slip dresses with fur, pearls and absurd cocktail rings.   Bodysuits, baby dolls and slip dresses can be glamorous outerwear when done right.  Here are my favourite lingerie/outwear links.

Kiki de Montparnasse     Agent Provocateur     Coco de mer      Myla    Madame V

Husbands/boyfriends/man toys should buy their ladies these items, at least once or twice a year.   This gift serves the men as well.  Christmas and Valentines is coming up, save your pennies.

No place like home - This entry is dedicated to the lovely Jill Monsod her home is gonna be off the hizzzhouse

I always find the home to be the most private of all.  This is your sanctuary, where your cherished items are displayed, like the way you dress, the home says a lot about you.   I love looking at how others live, how they decorate, and it intrigues me…so when I stumbled upon this site I was browsing for hours. http://www.designspongeonline.com/category/sneak-peeks

Here are some images of inspirational rooms. My favourite thing that I’ve been dreaming of for the past few months is this high back yoke red chair from Urban Barn. It’s like 6ft tall, rustic red very asian meets tall texan ;)  Babe we can def compromise. =)

What does your home say about you?

I can’t wait to decorate our home. =P Babe get ready for vintage, Texan country, Asian accents, lace, chandeliers, animal prints meets rock and roll!  Eclectic =)

Inspiration - Pearl Lowe

Pearl Lowe, Singer-Songwriter turned fashion and textiles designer.  Not sure if I was drawn to her because we share the same name or because we share the same interests …love of lace,  dark vintage glamour.. rock and roll.  At her worst she was 600,000 in debt, spending money on drugs and one of her children was rushed to hospital after swallowing an ecstasy tablet found on the floor. Lowe has now launched a design company mixed with vintage style lace curtains and cushions, and a handmade clothing line.  Her latest vintage clothes can be found at www.pearllowe.co.uk and you can read the auto-biography…All That Glitters.
