Online Shopping =)

My favourite places to shop online:

Amorir: The Swarovski heart shaped lolita sunglasses are so cute.  I have a pair without the crystals or I would snatch this pair!

Bona Drag Ms. Heather finds the best items and has it all in her online boutique.   From cute onesies to unique jewelery. The talon knuckle ring is bad ass.

Patricia Field she is the genious behind dressing Sex in the City. This is the place to go for loud statement pieces.  This Budda ring is different.  I think I was in her store for an hour trying on all the goodies it was like wonderland.

c20 Vintage Fasthion carries the best Vintage designers Ossie Clark and Biba.  Love the pink marabou jacket.

Now that I’ve shared my favourite go to places….please feel free to share yours ;)

Beauty

Why do women love looking at other women?  Because we study them and their beauty.   We absorb every detail, from the millimetres of their regrowth on her highlights to spotting the evidence that her Gucci is fake.  Often, our stares betray nothing less than admiration.  Man watching is dull compared to looking at women.  Our obsession stretches from strangers in the street to celebrities.  Beauty intoxicates, being around it, we bathe in a small amount of reflected glory of association.  Notions of what beauty is are part of society’s collective consciousness that changes over time and yet are entirely personal.   Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder…here is beauty through my eyes:

sophia loren, georgina chapman, helena christensen, iman, kim kardashian, nicole scherzinger, monica belluci, haifa wehbe, sepideh

Inspiration: The Beautiful Jennifer Starr

I strongly believe that artistic people have the best/unique styled home and fashion sense. =)  Jennifer Starr is my case in point.  She has a great approach for fashion, photography and home decor.  She styles all of her models, and her photography is beautiful you should go hire her if you’re in the west coast!! www.jenstarrphoto.com  As a photographer, I am drawn to other photographers and their work for inspiration.  I love when photographers have their own strong sense of style and niche.  I am able to distinguish Jens photography just by the aura of her imagery.  Her models are always lit softly and elegant and she uses shadows beautifully.  This lovely lady shared some images and was kind enough to do an interview with me, lets get to know more about the beautiful woman behind the lens and take a peak into her home and her photography ;)

My favourite room is her dining room.  I love the dining room seats and the lion heads mounted on the wall.

When I was a child I wanted to be…understood

The moment that changed me for ever..as a photographer…shooting my first beauty shot.

My style icon….Kate Moss

My favorite item of clothing…a pair of black leather boots with an extremely high heel that I got in “the village” in 98′ still have not found their equal.

I wish I’d never worn…flip flops but were on la…lol

You wouldn’t know it but I’m very good at… cooking elaborate dinners

You may not know it but I’m no good at…balancing a ball on my nose

All my money goes on…my elegant abode

If I have time to myself…I work or work out..usually both

I drive/ride…a silver cruiser

My house/flat is…pretty rad

My most valuable possession is…my doggie “galaxina”

A book that changed me…“The profit” Kahlil Gibran

My favorite work of art…the human being

The last album I bought/downloaded… some vintage sonic youth

The shop I can’t walk past…I’m all about home decor boutiques

In ten years time, I hope to be…still happy and interested.

My greatest regret…not getting that red coat with the big collar..lol

My secret indulgent…birthday cake

My life in seven words…love, work, beauty, fashion, music, friend, and food

My cameras……I’m a Canon girl

Let’s talk about photographic equipment: Many photographers say that equipment honestly doesn’t matter but what do you think? I agree…it’s in the eye of the shooter, the quality of the model, the energy of the shoot itself… and if your lucky all things simultaneously.

My favorite photographers……Mert and Marcus, Avedon, Sokolsky,

How did you get started in photography…My fiance’ gave me a digital camera …I have not put it down since.

What can you tell us about your style of photography…I’m into the eyes of my subjects if I can get the soul…I’m all good with it.

My muse…….when I shoot a model she is the most beautiful and important thing to me in that moment she is the muse and no one else enters my consciousness.

The ad campaign I want to shoot…ALEXANDER MCQUEEN WOULD BE FINE.

Any plans on making a coffee table book of your photography in the future….I don’t have that as a set plan but …you never know what the future holds

Armour Jewellery

Armour Jewellery is HARD to find.  Daphne Guinness fashion stylist, film producer and haute couture collector is wearing great rings and hand pieces.  I read somewhere that she is working with someone to design some pieces. I sure hope so.  Here are some pics.

Shopping in Austin Texas

If you all know me…you know that I love different statement pieces.  I don’t enjoy played out mass market trendy things.  Great unique places to shop in Austin Texas or via webby:

1. Boudoir Queen  The beautiful owner/designer Dawn has re-worked one of a kind vintage, lace and all things decadent and beautiful.  I bought a beautiful cuff a while back.  You can be sure you won’t be showing up to an event with someone else wearing the same outfit =)

2. Free People Clothing Adore the headbands, lingerie, quilt and cute thigh high socks.

3. Feathers Boutique  1700 S Congress Ave Austin, TX 78704 Phone: (512) 912-9779 Great Vintage finds.  Bought the best ever 60s bell bottoms the other day!  Brown/beige with a dancing couple on them. So much fun!

Hope everyone is getting what they want for Christmas happy shopping, NO animal fighting like what happened in ToysRus or Walmart.
